Waste Water Treatment for PV-Fabs
Waste water from TF solar production processes usually can not be directly discharged into the local sewage system.
Components like caustic potash solution with dissolved fluoride-ions, smallest particles of zinc oxide and silicon-dioxide have to be treated specifically to assure that the remaining water meets legal requirements and is no longer harmful to the environment.
DAS waste water treatment plants (WWTP) for solar fabs combine processes like e.g. precipitation, coagulation and neutralization to treat the waste water adequately:
Dissolved fluoride-ions, Zinc oxide and silicon-dioxides are precipitated and coagulated.
Thus solids are separated and dewatered e.g. by a chamber filter press.
The resulting sludge can subsequently be disposed to respective waste sites.
The remaining water is neutralized and after passing a gravel filter, it can be directly discharged into the local sewage system without any further treatment. Alternatively, it could even be partly recycled and re-used in production.
